hi guys,

with the freshly release of Comodo FW/IS, we got new interesting features like the webfilter:

today i will show you how to add websites or list of websites:

i will use MVPS Hosts list as example (you can use other ads/malware lists instead)

1- go to MVPS , open this page to view the Hosts List in plain text , copy ALL the page into a text file, then save it as .txt file.

2- go to CIS > Advanced settings > Security Settings > Firewall > Website Filtering > Categories

3- Now we will create a new category called "MVPS Hosts List" (or whatever name you like) as follow:

- Right click on the blank space > select "Add" > "Add Category" then input a name on the newly opened box

- now we will import the websites list from the previously saved text file:

Right click on the newly created list > Select "add" > select "Import Websites" > browse to the file text and select it. Import it as a Host format txt. Click "ok" every time.

for fun, we will add a popular website to it , Youtube for example

- right click on "MVPS Hosts List" > "add" > "Add Website" > input the link > click "ok"

now youtube is part of the blocked list

Now we go in the rules section to validate the category we just created.

- Go to CIS > "Advanced settings" > "Security Settings" > "Firewall" > "Website Filtering" > "Rules" > "Blocked Sites" > right click on it > "edit" > under "Category" right click on blank area > add > select the category created earlier (MVPS) > click "ok"

We are done !

now you can try to go to some of the blocked websites , youtube for example , then you will see this :

you can do others rules using advanced options , not very difficult now since you grasped the procedure

Thanks

Problem with the latest MVP hosts file is that it blocks malwaretips.com:p

Sites are blocked only if you remove 0.0.0.0

All i did was added the MVP hosts file to Comodo as instructed by Umbra, and it blocked MT and many other legitimate sites!
I never removed 0.0.0.0

Thanks!

Weird i got no issues with it? Do you use a proxy?

What if you remove this line from the created hosts text file

127.0.0.0

Let me know if your issue is fixed
