Don't you use Avast Free ? If I remember correct, you ask us about Avast Registration.
or Do you have multiple PCs :D
McAfee has not Free version, you have to purchase it to use more.
or uninstall it and install a free antivirus.

It cannot be free, it is installed by them it is obvious you paid for its license key unconsciously :)
If it says "License will be expired" so you should have to buy new license, McAfee has not got free version.
If you do not want to pay for again, you should consider to use free antivirus options like Avast, Avira, Panda etc.
There is no more option on this case.

Of course! Just remove McAfee if you don't want to extend your subscription. Use avast or any other free antivirus you like :D

Usually laptops that purchased are pre-installed with an AV where its limited to 60-90 days trial, so all you have to do is continue to use it or change an other AV's. ;)

Computers may come pre-installed with a trial version of McAfee software, if not removed after 30/60/90 days the trial will expire and prompt the user to renew the license, by purchasing a new one. McAfee Antivirus Plus / Internet Security is not free.

I would suggest to remove (uninstall) McAfee software from your PC, using one of links provided above. And replace with an alternate free or paid solution.
