Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei allegedly hacked state-owned BSNL's network and the government is investigation the matter, Parliament was informed today.

"An incident about alleged hacking of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited network by Huawei, a Chinese telecom company, has come to notice.

"The government has constituted an inter- ministerial team to investigate the matter," Minister of State for Communications and IT Killi Kruparani informed the Lok Sabha.

Strangely none of the links have any information on what actually happened and the reasons for suspecting a hack, I am skeptical about this, not because i trust Huawei but having seen the competence of some of their technical people, we will have to wait and see.

this is not the first time, that chinese companies are suspected for hacking, check this google link, USA, Australia, UK.... lots of country faced this, even India govt warned this some years ago as i remember. Indian govt's most secret projects, space, defense, banking, electronic press etc almost everything is depends on BSNL network. So they should have taken more care.
