Following a ban in the US and Australia, Huawei is presently blacklisted by the New Zealand Government over certain network security issues. New Zealand’s Intelligence Bureau has reportedly stated that the Huwaei’s 5G infrastructure poses a significant network security risk. Therefore, Spark, one of the top 3 telecom service providers in the country has been advised to drop its decision to partner-up with Huawei.

Chinese suppliers/providers are generally all considered backdoored.

One firm I worked with used HIKVision cameras and found them all backdoored. Even worse, the Chinese 'flood' the market with 'acceptable' quality stuff at a very low price so everyone gets on board and installs the backdoored stuff. This is by design, most of these firms are partnered or even owned by the Chinese Govt.

A year and a half ago the lab where i worked purchased a bunch of 'Smart' crap from Amazon then tested them. About 89% of them were side-channel dumping data to Beijing. They'd have legitimate activity to AWS or Azure buckets, then dump auxiliary data into China. It is important to realize that if you use Chinese products/services you are likely backdoored. Chinese has the biggest spying operations in the world, even dwarfing the US Govt/Contractors in some cases. China's thirst for any relevant data is immense and unrelenting.

What that data is used for is even more surprising, varied, and impressive. Intellectual property theft is incredible, they have almost no innovation and almost everything is rooted in the theft of IP at the expense of quality, security, privacy of whatever the end product resulting is.

Every gov or big corporations spies, it is mandatory to ensure territory safety and trading dominance, some are more hungry than others, some hide it under free speech and pseudo-democracy, etc...

Could it be that the Five Eyes Countries are banning Hauwei because their technology is unbreakable by NSA, GCHQ, ASD, etc?

This article from 2007 reports that the NSA attempted to hack Huawei. I feel like this topic also correlates with the United States banning Kaspersky. Did they ban Kaspersky because it detects our own state-sponsored malware? Remember when Kaspersky was impersonated by the CIA?

The Chinese spying is far more dangerous. Communist regime and no rule of law to hold back the state. Tiananmen Square massacre wasn't too long ago. If they are willing to do that to their own citizens...

True. Look what they are doing to over a million of their own residents today in detention camps...

Go figure out what the us grov did on 9:11 on there own citizens to have a reason for "war of terror".

Incorrect and uninformed.

Vietnam war
Koweit war
Irak war

Guess who invaded those countries?

Ok.

Vietnam war was started by the French, who were trying to get control of their former colony.

The Korean war was started by North Korea invading South Korea.

Iraq war was started by Iraq invading Kuwait.
