Here is a related thread : http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Can-I-get-hacked-through-my-IP-Address , you'll most likely find the answer in there..
The IP is something you share everytime you go to a website so it's not a secret... The good news is that cyber criminals can't do any real damage just by knowing it so they won't lose their time trying an attack when a social engineered attack is easier to perform .......Also your IP is most likely dynamic , changing every time your connect to the internet...
In the real world the IP adress it's used by websites to give you specific content for your region .. like news or ads so it has its use...

You can't just "hack" into a computer by knowing someone's IP address, that's impossible.
Besides that, most of all the threats you could get about having your computer hacked using your IP are false anyway, just things said in a faulty attempt to scare someone to try and make the skiddie who posed the threat feel better about himself. All and all, I wouldn't worry about it.

that's a relief

cuz i had couple of friends who were Mad at me
Hacked a couple of time in the pas
i just wanted to be sure that the hack was on my action not something i couldn't do anything about it
So i think a normal NAT Router with secure password will do the Trick
i was thinking about a VPN firewall but if it's un necessary no need for the extra payment

thanks for the help

Sorry!! for bumbing the Thread

but i have another question
when i read about Vulnerability from Microsoft
for instance the recent Bluetooth Vulnerability that allow Remote Code execution
what do they mean by that ???

also read about this vulnerability when searching about remote code execution
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms11-083

from my understanding that a Router is a Mini Computer with Mini Unix operating system
so if that unix system got hacked the network Lost it's Hardware Firewall and Left to be protected by software Firewall
which also can be exploit etc....

http://www.esecurityplanet.com/headlines/article.php/3857026/Hacker-Exposes-Firewall-Vulnerability.htm
another article i scanned in it fast for clues
http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/exploiting-cisco-routers-part-1
this another vulnerability in cisco IPS
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/707/cisco-sa-20070213-iosips.shtml

that seem a bit scary don't you think ?

this also a long list of vulnerability published by cisco
