It all depends on what you are trying to do.

ImgBurn works excellent on bin, cue, iso images and DVD's.
I only trust it when burning these type of formats because others have destroyed my CD/ DVD.

Burnaware is a rebrand of StarBurn which is free for home users.
It uses StarBurn SDK burning engine just like many others including CDBurnerXP, ISO Workshop, Alcohol Software, Ashampoo, Paragon System Utilities and many OEM distributors.

StarBurn SDK burning is second in popularity next to Nero Burning ROM.
But it is used in more burning and media products. Currently #1 Burning SDK.

Burnaware just like the others that use StarBurn SDK burning engine are excellent products, about the only difference between them is the GUI's.
All the basic features are the same.

Burnaware is very good for burning audio CD's and data discs.

Thanks.:D

I didn't tried either of two, only CDBurner XP.

Actually those free versions are really useful if burning cd/dvd, reformat, making bootable and others.

You don't need a lot of features since you may not used often.

Hi!

My choice is Burnaware, CDBurnerXP it's bloated with opencandy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCandy

Its just an optional to install thus it would not affected the application itself.
