I will never understand the need for a "download manager" I mean... my downloads are managed by the client app I am downloading with, I have never thought to myself "I really wish I had a way to manage these downloads" ;) but hey, different strokes I guess

:rolleyes::eek:

eagleget is known to be affeliated and sponsored by pornsites , thanks but NO thanks.......I rather stick with my lifetime subscription of IDM! :eek::rolleyes:;):D
Hmm, for me it's a good reason to support them. :p
Honestly i don't see the point on using a download manager. 99% of times my downloads are full speed.

Hehe :D
They're very useful when you have horrible internet like me. Without download manager, downloading large files is almost impossible for me. And then there's streaming videos downloads. IDM supports nearly every site, except those drm ones.

Most video downloads, or embedded videos can be detected from within the browser itself by inspection tools. I never used any download manager apart from JDownloader for automation reasons, it can download videos from every non-redirect website, crawl for links hidden behind the shortened urls full of ads, resolve or simplify captchas and download multiple / dissected downloads that, in case of not having JD, you'll need to click and download 1by1.

But then there's problem of expiring download address, I like how IDM refreshes and resumes those. Never failed me unless the file got deleted from server or the file is non resumable, it will mention in that case. Eagleget does it too but it failed me in the past. Showed error even after refresh. Maybe better now, don't know.
JD is great but I wish it was lighter. I like its captcha resolving.

It cannot be lighter, it's coded in Java :D

For me, it's simple as is,
  • if the file is smaller than 200mb then I'll just download it from Chrome, if it fails, it wouldn't take much time until I download it again. Problem is slow servers without redirection upon slow speed downloads.
  • If there are multiple small files I use JDownloader
  • If there are multiple bigger files I use JDownloader
  • If there is one big file I use JDownloader
  • If there is some mega file that I need to download I plan its download when I need to go somewhere or by night, where "Autoshutdown after successful download operation" completes
Done :D

I could never afford to download over 50 MB without downloader. Pain of having slow internet :(
And that slow internet is why streaming capture is very important for me. Can't enjoy any videos without so much buffering :mad:
