Hi
anyone having trouble updating a newly installed Kaspersky patch?
It is usual for the software after its installation to update to the latest database and the latest patch that is available
But now I am stuck in patch b despite the installation a days ago and the program only updates the database

And the second pic, probably same case if Your installer does not contain any patch, or probably a GUI bug.

You have to be patient, patches usually are gradually delivered around 2 or 3 weeks, in this time if You install an installer only with Patch B.

You will not get any previous Patch until get the last one, in this case H.

I guess it's for sure the reason mentioned by @harlan4096 Kaspersky patches are gradually delivered within a few weeks, for some users sooner or even later.

Finally, here on my laptop, patch h has been delivered today:

I don't see any problems, product patches are available in waves.
Thank you very much for the reply He was previously updating the patch right after installation but maybe they changed that as he said @harlan4096

If anyone still can't receive the latest patch update ,
there is a way to manually forced upgrade .

Step as follows :

1.
Open Kaspersky > Settings > General > Disable Self Protection

2.
Find the kaspersky icon on the lowe right corner of the system ,
and right click > pause protection

3.
Open the system's registry editor (regedit),
(You can find it by typing "regedit" through the search function in the lower left corner of the system)

4.
If your system is 64bit , find :
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\KasperskyLab\AVP XXXX\environment

If your system is 32bit , find :
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\AVPXXX\environment

5.
Find 【UpdateTarget】, double click mouse left button ,
and delete the value data of【UpdateTarget】.

6.
Open the Kaspersky , and execute the update ,
you should see the update file size around 8~10MB ,
than it means you are success .

7.
Restore Kaspersky's self-protection and restart the system.

-------------------------------

I had be waiting for patch H many days ,
still can't receiving patch H update ,
after using the above method, I successfully updated to Patch H.

Yes, this is the known hack that always comes when a new patch is released and many users get impatient :)

Thanks KevinYu0504 it worked like a charm, now I'm on patch h :)

But Kaspersky should immediately notify that the patch is installed and need to reboot to apply it and I don't know why it doesn't do that :(

Well, I guess it's because of wanting to be less intrusive to the user,
and even without an system reboot, the old version can still work normally.

However, it is a good idea to give a hint.

The hack for forcing the update doesn't seem to be working on the recent version 21.5. Any advice?

So, You have the last patch 🤷‍♂️

The problem is I can't write in the registry; I have a message of access denied when modifying the "UpdateTarget" value.

Did You disable temporally Kaspersky protection before make the registry change?
