Welcome to the iPhone and congrats :D

When you use public WiFi or someone's WiFi then you should use VPN, in Sim card you should set a Passcode for security reason :)

Turn off location and bluetooth if you dont use it and turn off some background app refresh that you dont use it which save battery.

Tell me what would you do on this iPhone? watching movies/tvshows? playing games?

Use Adguard to block ads, trackers, etc on the Safari. And if you surf the internet sometimes at cafes or public WiFi or something like this except mobile data then use ProtonVPN free (3 servers only) or Windscribe (free 10 GB per month)
If you want to pay: AdGuard (to block ads, trackers) and AdGuard VPN.
