Many download sites come with installers enabled. "Installers" basically means Adware installer alert! However, not every custom download site comes with an installer. To help everyone, we should keep a list of avoided and safe download sites. You should reply to this topic (or PM me) about possible sites that are safe or should be avoided, or of an incorrect placement.
List:
Avoid:
-Cnet Download: http://www.download.cnet.com
-Softonic: http://www.softonic.com
-Brothersoft: http://www.brothersoft.com
-FreewareFiles: http://www.freewarefiles.com
-Source Forge: http://www.sourceforge.net
-Tucows: http://www.tucows.com
-Toggle: http://www.toggle.com
Safe:
-Downloadcrew: http://www.downloadcrew.com/
-Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com
-Snapfiles: http://www.snapfiles.com
ESET Smart Security also blocks FreewareFiles:

but everything else slipped through.
Please contribute to this and help expand this list!

I'll start a new topic in the security talk about this, lets not get off-topic. Simplified version:
-I disabled the programs folder that emsisoft was in
-I disabled the driver folder that emsisoft was in
-Same with ESET
No conflicts:D

These are pretty risky:
Mediafire: hxxp://www.mediafire.com
Mega: hxxp://www.mega.com
You can download a huge helper, or a virus!
Once I downloaded 25 files from mega onto my virtual machine and ran a scan with ESET/Emsisoft/Avast Free and they detected over 15 threats! 15/25 is a huge risk...
I hope you don't mean the whole website is risky, but the content you download is.
