I have seen macrium in action but usually when something like an AV tries to scan the backup directory it will pop up a warning and block it. LOL. So it does work but I have not fully tested it. I had a license that expired and I am wondering if the free version will be good enough without the ransomware protection module since I am using AVG which also has ransomware protection built in? Anyone know?

The only difference between the free and the pro versions in the use of change-tracking tech that makes it faster when creating differential or incremental images. If you just create full images you'd be fine with the free version. That being said, if you create daily images spring for the home version. It's well worth it.

Hi, No can't say that I have, but I can not recommend Acronis True Image 2021 enough, it is a very nice & useful piece of software  (y)
(Picture Michael Scott after he sees Toby again after thinking Toby was fired) Noooooooo! Just run away from Acronis as fast as you can! This is not True Image 2015 any more. True Image has now become a completely bloated, slow, product that aims to do much more than just create and restore images, and fails miserably as a result. As a result its focus is all over the map. Stick to a product that does one thing very (very) well, like Macrium Reflect or Terabyte's Image for Windows/Linux. This is not an area where you can/should have to compromise.
