Now, Apple's changed its tune a little and revised the wording on its "Why you'll love a Mac" webpage:

The problem is that after many years of not thinking about security because "virtually no effort on their part" was required mac users need to adjust. I was expecting Apple to push their App Store as "the only way to make sure you don't install something malicious" but I like that they didn't.
