It won't let me upload the 2 files plus when I cut and paste then "create thread" I'm alerted about being "blocked". What do I do next?

Unfortunately, my computer wasn't co-operating (re:downloading AdwCleaner).. I did, however, manage to download the file (a couple of times) once from the site you directed me to and once on another site. When I tried to open the file (both times) a notice came up stating "Not a valid Win32 application" . This despite (on the site you directed me to) stating it was Win32 and Win64 compatible. Would this be virus related? As I inferred, my computer wouldn't allow me to download, and sometimes even visit the site, without persistence. Any other suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

I just did a scan with Super anti spyware. I spotted (and removed) over 300 malware (which is low) plus I did another scan with Spybot S&D.. The things that came up were very low on thee concern level... unlike the first scan. I did a Google search and came up with "something might be conflicting with Adwcleaner" and/or a virus is causing the "not valid" notice. What do you think? Again, I appreciate your help!

I just did. MalwareBytes found 39 items (I quarantined all of them). The PC seems to be running MUCH better. Hopefully, it cleaned up the problem. I'll report back in a day or so. Thanks for taking the time to help!

The PC is running better than previously however some websites take MULTIPLE attempts before I'm connected (it's as if I'm being blocked). Links within some websites (example: My Go Daddy account and Yahoo email) take often take MULTIPLE attempts before connecting. Even opening pictures on Facebook can be a challenge (if not impossible). This type of thing wasn't happening a few weeks ago. Also, last night Malwarebytes did an auto scan and came up with 2 items of concern. I'm convinced something is still hiding within the PC. Note, offline software appears to be running better (Windows Office along with Cool Edit Pro/Adobe Audition). Thanks, as always for your help. The FRST scans are attached. .

Let's try to empty some cache:

FRST.gif
Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

icon_exclaim.gif
This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.
icon_exclaim.gif

icon_exclaim.gif
Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.
icon_exclaim.gif

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finishes FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Done. Note: During the reboot the AVG (suspicious hidden object) warning still comes up... although it can't seem to be able to remove the "object" MBR:\\PHYSICAL DRIVE0 Partision2 MBR:Alureon.K (RTK) Note, this warning started coming up just after AVG updated itself. I Googled it and it can be an ongoing problem but I'm not experiencing many of the symptoms listed in my Google search. Thoughts?

Update: Overall, things aren't going well. I'm having problems with logging on to some sites (my yahoo email for one). Most times, it takes several attempts (if I'm lucky).

Scan with TDSSKiller

Please download TDSSKiller by Kaspersky and save it to your desktop.

  • Right-click on
    TDSSKiller_Kaspersky.png
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  • Click on Change parameters and put a checkmark beside Loaded modules. A reboot will be needed to apply the changes, allow it to do so.
  • Your machine may appear very slow and unusable after that - it's normal.
  • TDSSKiller will run automaticaly. Click on Change parameters and click OK.
  • Click the Start Scan button and wait patiently.

If anything will be found follow this guidelines:
  • If a suspicious object is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue.
  • If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results - Select action for found objects and offer three options.
Ensure Cure (default) is selected, then click Continue > Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.
If Cure is not available, please choose Skip instead.
  • Do not choose Delete unless instructed!

A report will be created in your root directory, (usually C:\ drive) in the form of TDSSKiller.[Version]_[Date]_[Time]_log.txt. Please include the contents of that file in your next post.
