I find that, many security softwares are not easy to configure. For example:
  • Antivirus programs having sophisticated options, like Kaspersky, Avast, ESET, etc
  • HIPS programs, like Comodo, ESET, etc
  • Text-based Anti-EXE programs, like Bouncer, SmartObjectBlocker, etc
I hope to see some guide on making good customized settings for these complicated softwares.

MT has already had a "security configuration" forum.
But generally, in that forum, members only share what security softwares they are using, but rarely share their customized settings.
Therefore, I hope there could be a new forum to encourage the MT members to share the settings.:)

As much as possible the tutorial thread category should be sufficient which already existed; I think its already up to the members who are willingly to post a tutorial under the sun. ;)

That's because soft vendors do only the most basic education of their users... and, as you know, in many instances not at all.

For those vendors that do more, the options are not only not user-friendly (650+ page manual !!), more importantly, they don't give the user all the infos they need - what to expect, how soft works, how it will behave, etc, etc.

Very difficult problem...

Very inefficient and ineffective process...

Is primary reason why so many users are so utterly disgusted with softs.
