Microsoft has recently been testing the latest version of Windows 11, which it calls 24H2, but now those efforts are suddenly on hold. It's been letting Insiders try out version 24H2 via the company's pre-release channel, but it's now pulling the software from that channel and promising to resume the rollout soon. Microsoft isn't stating why it's doing this, and given the number of changes in the release, one can only speculate as to why it was necessary to take what seems like drastic action.

Microsoft announced, "We are temporarily pausing the rollout of Windows 11, version 24H2 to the Release Preview Channel. We will resume the rollout in the coming weeks." The previous update noted that not all Insiders saw 24H2 as being available as Microsoft was performing a slow rollout, but that appears to be paused now. Microsoft had to know people would question why this was happening, so the fact that they didn't offer an explanation is odd.

Windows 11 24H2 is now generally and officially available for Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite-powered PCs, also known as Copilot+ PCs. In a new support document published on June 15, Microsoft quietly clarified that Windows 11 24H2 is available for Copilot+ PCs, and KB5039239 is the first big update.

“Important: Windows 11, version 24H2 is only available for Copilot+ PCs devices,” Microsoft noted in a support document first spotted by Windows Latest. This support doc specifically highlights the Windows 11 24H2 KB5039239 update, which advances Copilot+ PCs to Build 26100.863.
