Microsoft has recently been testing the latest version of Windows 11, which it calls 24H2, but now those efforts are suddenly on hold. It's been letting Insiders try out version 24H2 via the company's pre-release channel, but it's now pulling the software from that channel and promising to resume the rollout soon. Microsoft isn't stating why it's doing this, and given the number of changes in the release, one can only speculate as to why it was necessary to take what seems like drastic action.
Microsoft announced, "We are temporarily pausing the rollout of Windows 11, version 24H2 to the Release Preview Channel. We will resume the rollout in the coming weeks." The previous update noted that not all Insiders saw 24H2 as being available as Microsoft was performing a slow rollout, but that appears to be paused now. Microsoft had to know people would question why this was happening, so the fact that they didn't offer an explanation is odd.
