Hello there.
I'm thinking about buying a system tuning software and just wondering... wich one is better in the market? And why? I'm in doubt about Norton Utilities and AVG TuneUP Utilities, but i'm open to other suggestions. Could you people give me a hand in deciding it, sharing your oppinion?

Many thanks in advance!

I dont recommend them, i recommend to use Glary Utilities,Advanced SystemCare, CCleaner,Wise Care 365. If you want free license for some of them (Pro versions), send me a message in inbox, and i'll give you free license.

Avoid. Most paid system maintenance tools are a rip off.

There are many freeware alternates, that provide similar features, more stable and safer to use.
For example: CCleaner - Freeware, Portable available. Trusted and used by millions of PC and Mac users.

Did you know Windows already includes a Disk Cleaner, Disk De-Fragmentator, and allows you to uninstall programs?

I did know it and I've been using the free version for ages. It's really effective in cleaning the registry. I never let other cleaning app touch my registry. Just ccleaner. It just happen that I like it a lot

Yes I Know it all :D
And CCleaner also have a disk cleaner, far more effective. :)

I was just wondering about the effectiveness of Norton SpeedDisk or TuneUp Utilities program deactivator.

Thank you ;)

There are freeware versions available, also quoted from their sites about those certain features. You could probably find more on review and video sites too.

Speed Disk – Brings together (defragments) and reorganizes (optimizes) files and data that have become scattered across your hard drive.

IObit Smart Defrag - http://www.iobit.com/iobitsmartdefrag.html
Auslogics Disk Defrag - http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/
MyDefrag (aka JKDefrag http://www.kessels.com/jkdefrag/ ) - Use this link > http://www.mydefrag.com

TuneUp Program Deactivator™ works as follows:
  • Disables programs including all resource-hungry components
  • Re-enables programs on demand so users can continue using them
  • Turns programs off, once users don’t need them anymore
  • TuneUp Program Deactivator is fully integrated into Live Optimization 2.0 – it allows you to turn off resource hogs easier than before

Razer GameBooster (aka IObit) - http://www.razerzone.com/gb-en/gamebooster or http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html
Soluto (account required) - https://www.soluto.com/boot-time

You can always manually disable services that you don't use or don't require. Or can create batch (.bat) files to stop / start services using notepad.

TuneUp Utilities 2014, best program of its kind. Glary Utilities need to put some work on its Windows 8.1 compatibility... if you use 8.1 stay away from it.
Nothing comes close to TuneUp.

And how about Auslogics BoostSpeed or Advanced System Care ? Asc and Wise Care are much better because they have free version, and i don't like TuneUp because it's destroyed my hard drive,i had to buy another one.

Between Norton Utilities 16 and AVG TuneUP Utilities 2014, TuneUp Utilities is better. But personally, I use neither of them.

I'm a computer technician 4 years and i know what i'm saying. I dont care if you are TuneUp's fanboy, but i'm not. TuneUp sucks because free alternatives can do same task much better and without any problems. If you are noob that's not my problem.
