Both cards which were leaked by PNY are non-reference cards with factory-overclocking. The XLR8 Gaming series features RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 cards. The datasheets released by the company confirm the specifications we posted yesterday.
These cards are not running on stock settings, hence TDP values are not the same as for reference models.
The placeholder data shows 1000 and 800 USD price tags for RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 respectively. Those prices are without a doubt a placeholder.
According to PNY, the RTX 2080 Ti features 4352 CUDA cores and 11GB GDRR6 memory across 352-bit memory bus. The XLR8 OC model has a TDP of 285W (because the card overclocked). It supports 2-way multi GPU through NVLink. The base clock for this card is 1350 MHz with boost around 1545 MHz.
The RTX 2080 XLR8 on the other hand, features 2944 CUDA cores and 8GB GDDR6 memory. This model also is 285W TDP SKU, which might be quite surprising, but we don’t know if the specs are final. PNY claims that their RTX 2080 XLR8 model has a boost of 1710 MHz.

It's going to be 25-35% faster than the 1080Ti. Which imo, is more than marginal.

Im of course not stating that off any specific benchmarks, as there are none, but more so from looking at clock speed/core count differences. Which have historically scaled fairly similarly across architectures. At least since the 700 series.

Also as per Techradar review: https://www.techradar.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-ti

They played Battlefield V and Metro: Exodus with Nvidia RTX turned on, and saw performance run in excess of 100 fps at 4K and Ultra settings.

How do they do it? How does Nvidia do it?? Real-time raytracing, GDDR6, 6 MB L2 cache like it's nothing... amazing. These things will eventually be faster than the rest of your computer.
Most of them will not turn ON Real time Ray tracing because its simply a eye candy that slows down PCs. Hardware unboxed tested BF5 with disabled RTX(Since RTX is enabled if they have RTX GPUs). Then again 2080 is 5-8% faster than 1080 ti for most games and quite expensive too.
RTX will be dead and incorporated into DX12, Vulkan,UE4 & Metal for ease of use for game developers.
Try Luxmark and you will say Real time Raytracing is very hard to render and isn't needed for FPS gaming because distractions can kill you!
