Problem caused by AVG Free Anti-virus program--acts like browser highjacker

This thread concerns an add-on from AVG antivirus (please read details above) that AVG techs only partially installed, that they tried to immediately uninstall, and now acts like a browser hijacker.

I would appreciate, first, if you can advise me if you can even help me with something like this, since it is not really the typical meaning of a browser hijacker or malware, but is caused from the AVG Free antivirus program itself? If you can help me, I'll run the scans.

NOTE: I require extra time to do steps so I request someone who will understand I have physical limitations that may delay how fast I can perform recommended steps.

Thank you for reading all the information provided above.

Sorry, I mistakenly wrote, " is 85% done and it wants to finish uninstalling" -- I meant it wants to finish installing.

Hello,

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
