Hey guys, Aura here with a pretty straight-forward question.

I'm just wondering what desktop recording software you guys use when doing your video reviews as I'm interested in starting to produce such videos and I want to see if there's a favorite software that people here use more. Like Camtasia, Camstudio, etc.

What do you use ?

Is Camtasia free ? Damn, I have to pay for it.
And @RmG152 , I thought that OBS was used for streaming ? It can act as a solo desktop recording software as well ?

Never heard of Ocam, will look it up.

Good combinaison then. I'll check it out tonight.
What would be the more "light-weight" ? Camstudio and the Codec or OBS ?

Camstudio uses a lot of people, beware of adware.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Active Presenter Free...

It's simply the BEST FREE SCREENCASTING SOFTWARE OUT THERE..

The best part is that the Free version has all the features of the Pro version, except certain formats that it can export to.

It'll make CamStudio pale in comparison, because of it's advanced editing capabilities. Hell you'd even think why it's free!

Here's some Feature Highlights if you are interested.
