This is not how I imagined I would end up spending my night, but alas. I hope to hear from you soon. I apologise if there is any information missing or erroneously provided.

Hello,

FRST.gif
Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finishes FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Greetings, TwinHeadedEagle.

Thank you for your quick response! I ran the Fix with Farbar and performed a reboot as was required by the program. I have attached the Fixlog to this message.

I haven't noticed anything too alarming, but further instances are still popping up ranging from about two to eight instances that appear before quickly disappearing. I managed to take a screenshot of one of these instances as it occured which I have included in this post. (Text is in Norwegian)

I've been watching my task manager for the past thirty minutes and it seems as though there are less instances the less memory is in use. Right now I'm seeing up to four instances running as shown in the picture, but when I had a higher memory usage earlier I saw double the amount. The main difference from before the fix and now is that the instances don't seem to persist and clog up my memory usage, but there are still bursts of instances popping up every so often. Is this normal behaviour or should I take further measures?

Addendum: Due to the nature of the processes quickly terminating after they appear I am unable to right-click to check the process' properties, which is how I initially linked it to SysWOW64 (hence the parantheses in the topic title.)

Well, it's been a while now and it seems as though my computer is working fine. I still spot the occasional instance when I pay attention to the taskmanager, but I'm starting to wonder if that's a standard operation. I haven't had any issues with memory clogging up like I did prior to the fix, as I've already stated, so I'm starting to think it might be time to call it case closed. I'll get in touch with my school's IT department when I return next week and have them take a look, just to be certain. Should it be desired I will pass on their feedback on Monday.

Thank you very much for your help thus far, hope you have a pleasant weekend.

It seems as though I've jumped the gun a tad. I just had another incident at 1.5.2016 ~03:48 AM where my processors blew up with rundll32.exe instances. I only noticed this as I was watching a YouTube video and I received another pop-up warning me about memory usage. This time, however, it escalated to the point of effectively locking down my computer leaving me to force shut it off in order to stop the overflow. I've attached a screenshot I managed to take with my laptop whilst I was still able to and I've also taken the liberty to perform another FRST scan and attached the logs to this post.
