TL;DR
  • A Samsung executive said the Galaxy S23 series will be shown at the company’s Unpacked event in February.
  • The 2023 Unpacked event would be the first in-person event since the pandemic.
  • It’s believed that Samsung could hold the event during the first week of February in San Francisco.
The Galaxy S23 series is expected to be powered by a higher-clocked version of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip instead of Samsung’s Exynos chipset.

As for the price, it’s anyone’s guess, but for the last two years, the base model has sold for $799, the Plus for $999, and the Ultra for $1,199.

Although the leaked promotional material, received from an industry source, doesn’t reveal the vanilla Galaxy S23, it gives you a closer look at the Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra design and colour in full glory. However, word is that the standard Galaxy S23 and the Plus variant would have an identical signature colour.

My sister has the S22 Ultra and it is literally a beast. Her only complaint is the speakers. The sound quality is not that great.

Personally, I would not pay that much for a smart phone. I usually go for a previous version and it would serve me for a couple of years without any issues.

They need to get rid of their own homemade exynos SoC's and have a Qualcomm SoC based on TSCM fab then I may consider a Samsung phone again.

Samsung's chips/SoC's have been had too many issues, I really hope they move back to Qualcomm chips.

[…] now the Galaxy S23 FE has leaked with a design that’s exactly what you’d expect it to be.

The device has a design that’s virtually identical to the regular Galaxy S23 and S23+

We don’t know much yet about the pricing of the Galaxy S23 FE

In the latest set of hands-on images that surfaced on Reddit, we again get a clear look at the Fold 5's cover display, back, and the revamped hinge which allows the device to close fully flat. At first glance, Samsung's upcoming foldable looks similar to the Fold 4 in these photos. However, a closer look shows the slightly redesigned rear cameras with a bigger lens protrusion and the LED flash sitting separately.

There's another picture of the Fold 5's inner folding display, but due to its potato quality, it is hard to determine whether the crease is visible. From the pictures shared, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 appears to be a test unit as it contains several identifying labels on the front and back. The Redditor who shared the images got them from someone who allegedly wanted to sell the unit.
Based on all the leaks and images we have seen so far, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is unlikely to pack major design changes over its predecessor. Samsung seems to have focused more on subtle refinements, including making the device appear thinner when closed and designing a zero-gap hinge.

Other changes will focus on internal upgrades, like the switch to a faster and more efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 'for Galaxy' chip and speedy UFS 4.0 storage.

Both phones are launching with Android 13, with One UI 5.1.1 on top of it. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 will be available for preorder starting today, and they will ship beginning on August 11. The devices retain the same prices as their predecessors, starting at $1,000 for the Flip and $1,800 for the Fold.

As usually, there are some goodies for those who decide to get the devices early. When you preorder, you are eligible for a free storage upgrade, and you can get up to $900 off the Z Flip5 or $1,000 off the Z Fold 5 when you trade in the right device. You can also save up to $540 when you bundle the phones with the new Galaxy Tab S9 series or the Galaxy Watch 6 devices.
