Question in title.

Which platform do you use for sharing a document, with a shareable link for others to view/edit?

So far I have found the following to be true. Both allow:
  • Viewable without an account
  • Options to allow editing
  • Links can be revoked
  • Viewers can print/save copy

Word Online (via OneDrive) – Pros/Cons
  • Pros:
    • Hides the owners name
    • Built-in Editor for spelling/grammar feels smarter for en-gb.
  • Cons:
    • 365 subscription required for additional share features (expiration and password)
    • Cannot add a table for contents without Word (desktop app)

Docs (via Google Drive) – Pros/Cons
  • Pros:
    • Viewable without an account
    • Can add a table for contents
  • Cons:
    • Shows anonymous viewer counter
    • Spelling/Grammar check not as thorough/fast to detect

I noticed that when I wanted to add a Tablet of Contents, loading the desktop app was more fluid / responsive, and switching back to Word Online for a preview viewing, was a downgrade.

Have you had any experience with Google Docs?

Yes, briefly, but I never tried anything advanced because I always use and am accustomed to Word.
