As more Chromebooks support apps from the Google Play Store (Android), would it be advisable to use Malwarebytes for ChromeOS for less experienced users?

Absolutely not. Android runs in Chrome virtualized through an emulated environment. On top of that each app is sandboxed and Google Play Protect is already scanning all the apps and we are always on the latest security patch. The main idea of most malware is doing damage by having access to other files on a computer. It's impossible for Android malware to break out and on top of that, Android malware reported is hilariously low.
