Hi guys
Windows 10 Asus laptop is unable to access internet, unable to run Malwarebytes, Windows firewall turned off, stuck in flight mode, Cortana search function also disabled. I've been accessing the internet on a separate laptop and copying across FRST, RKill and AVG file reports, attached. Have literally tried everything following MT guides, including using Kaspersky Rescue Disc but nothing. I would reinstall the Asus system files if a) knew what i was doing and b) had said files. Ahem.
Thanks and hope you can help...

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finishes FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Cortana is back but no change otherwise. Still locked out of Security and User Accounts section of Settings.

It wouldn't let me in to the Recovery menu initially trough the usual settings route. Managed to get in by running msconfig command prompt but after going through the motions I get a message saying theee was a problem resetting your PC No changes were made.

I've copied all the files I need off this laptop now as I'm almost resigned to losing it

Don't know if this helps but I tend to get the following message on start up and whenever I try to changer user account or security settings:

This app can't open. Microsoft Edge can't open using the built in administrator account sign in with a different account and try again.

It's almost as if there is a hidden user admin account blocking any changes.

I have no idea what is that and I told you what is the best action to do. If you can't perform reset option then you'll need to use installation disk and to wipe whole system and install again.
