Records from London Bridge Plastic Surgery (LBPS) clinic include celebrity clients.
The information accessed by The Dark Overlord includes not just patient records, but also photographs taken from their medical files, some of which are “compromising” and have been shared with news outlets as proof that their hacking claims are real.

The clinic has apologized to its patients for the violation, but said there has not yet been an extortion attempt in exchange for the terabytes of data the hacker group claims to now have. “We are deeply saddened that our security has been breached. We are profoundly sorry for any distress this data breach may cause our patients.”

Hacking group claims to have “terabytes” of data, including information on “royal families”

Previous form
While the hacking group has a history of hacking large targets and holding the data for ransom–such as their threat to Netflix to release the recorded but unreleased episodes of a popular series show if the ransom isn’t paid–there’s been no mention of ransom yet in this data breach. The goal may just be the embarrassment of both the clinic and the patients, as The Dark Overlord has stated they will be releasing their trove online.

Genuine
According to Joseph Cox of The Daily Beast, the photos shared with the media appear to be genuine. “None of a selection of tested photos returned any matches from Google reverse image searches, implying that they were indeed obtained from a private source. Several pictures include LBPS’ chief surgeon Chris Inglefield, wearing his distinctive, multi-colored head scarves. In one image, he is wearing an identical head scarf to that is in an image on LBPS’ website.”

Cox, who was contacted by The Dark Overlord about the breach, says they plan to take the records and images and “pitch it all up for everyone to nab.”
