We reported recently on Microsoft’s purchase of Osterhout Design Group’s virtual reality patents for $150 million.
Now in the video after the break we have Ralph Osterhout himself showing us what his company’s inventions are all about.
His inventions focuses much more on augmented than virtual reality, noting the later is quite likely to cause your lunch to end up on your shirt.
A significant feature of his invention is the use of a ring which would allow users to easily add a cursor to their virtual screen, allowing a much more dense and PC-like user interface.
See the fascinating video showing off the technology after the break.
