This Weekend's PC Game Deals: Winter sale kicks off with many DRM-free titles on the cheap

This Weekend's PC Game Deals is a roundup of games - old, new, or soon to be released - that are available at a great price and can be activated on Steam, Origin, or Uplay - sometimes even good old games that are DRM-free.

AAA games with stunning visuals and physics may be all the rage these days, but there are lots of timeless classics that are still worth playing - and thanks to Origin Store’s “On the House” promotion, you can get some of them free of charge. You can now grab Dungeon Keeper, a strategy game that was well received when it launched in 1997. There should be a new offer coming soon, so be quick if you don't want to miss this one.

If you're looking for something a little more modern, then you should definitely check out this month's free UBI 30 title, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. A spin-off of Ubisoft's popular Far Cry 3:, Blood Dragon is an interesting blend of 80s retro-futurism and first-person shooter satire that breaks away from the mold of super-realism, instead aiming to be a fun and bold experiment that too many publishers are afraid to do these days.

If you find yourself wanting to get deeper into the Far Cry experience, Ubisoft is now offering it at a discount. Depending on how deep you want to go down the rabbit hole, you can grab the Bronze Pack (Far Cry 1, 2 and 3) for just $9.99 (€9.99/£9.99). The Silver Pack also includes Far Cry 4 for an additional $9.99, and the Gold Pack gets you access to the full Far Cry experience (including Far Cry: Primal) for a steeper total of $44.99 (€44.99/£44.99).
