Executive order doesn't mention Huawei, but it's a Huawei ban for all intents and purposes.
resident Donald Trump signed today an executive order to declare a national emergency and ban US companies from buying, installing, or using foreign-made telecommunications equipment, citing cyber-espionage fears.
"To deal with this threat, additional steps are required to protect the security, integrity, and reliability of information and communications technology and services provided and used in the United States,"
President Trump said in an executive order declaring a national emergency today.
The order's text specifically mentions equipment made by companies "owned by, controlled by, or subject to the jurisdiction or direction of foreign adversaries," meaning that telecommunications gear made in the EU or other allied states does not fall under its jurisdiction.
