Installed Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC on my old laptop.
LTSC has No TPM and Secureboot check , and 10 years guaranteed updates.

How is trend micro ?
Does it feel light ?

Btw I would probably advise CPU balance(some kind of CPU governor that makes sure ui always has headroom) And some software to automatically change to ultimate performance plan when connected to power

Btw first time seeing a Linux user installing an av in windows XD

Oh and I'm interested to know what browser you are using

TM is very light, and im not using it in a VM, i reinstalled my laptop, want to try Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC.

It runs really good and no bloatware or useless apps installed.

I use Edge and Chrome.

Windows is light only without an av (defender disabled ) and ltsc in my experience and the desktop window manager windows uses is lighter then some desktop environments in Linux

But that's specifically for very low end machines and for those you wouldn't use a desktop environment in Linux rather a window manager so it would be lighter that way then ltsc windows

But modren computers with nvme and lots of resources to use you got so much headroom it doesn't matter if you run windows with all it's bloat plus an av

My laptop is 13 years old, SSD and 8GB RAM its all i need. I dont game, too old and a waste of time and money.
LTSC is perfect to me, got 2 official licenses for it.

Well windows itself isn't as heavy as you think but when you add many services that work in the background an software like defender , av that uses IO then it can get pretty slow
But if you have an actual low end machine best to run Linux with only a window manager like icewm or more simpler lighter ones
But on modren machine having defender (or other av software ) and windows (with all services running in the background ) shouldn't feel slow at all
About ltsc being lighter then windows well kinda and it only impacts actual low end systems meanwhile disabling stuff in windows will have the same effect so you don't need some special license

Plus LTSC can be installed on tpm1.2 systems 😁

Well you can modify a reg , delete a dll and many other methods to bypass tpm without a special licensing of ltsc
Only actual positive ltsc has that it's the Microsoft approved way of making usable windows for low end systems and that it has more promised security updates (other PCs will have to upgrade to windows 12 to still get security updates once this mess comes back with a new version)

Basically a better ltsc is Linux as it has longer support then any ltsc license of windows and it doesn't have to promise updates you or forcing you to pay for licensing

And since Linux is just a kernel it can be lighter then ltsc unless you choose a heavy distribution that includes the Linux kernel
