A recent update to an ad block filter list now allows the uBlock Origin extension to block most of the known sites that perform port scans of your local Windows computer.
A few weeks ago, we reported that eBay is using fraud detection scripts that port scan a visitor's computer for Windows remote access programs.

It's the EasyPrivacy filter list you want. Do you have this already enabled in your AdGuard filter lists? If not, you can import it. Many variants of EasyPrivacy are compatible with both uBlock Origin and AdGuard.

uBlock Origin--had to purge/update again just now. (y)

Edit: Just noticed that you can import EasyPrivacy into Opera's native ad-blocker also. (y)

When you have activated Adguard Base filter then you are protected against ebay port scanning. No need to import EasyPrivacy filter.

From another thread with thanks to Marko.

There are two AdGuard Base filters;

  • first one that has more than 118.000 rules (used by AdGuard's browser extension and software)
  • second one (with approx. 41.000 rules) used in other browser extensions like uBlock Origin.
First one is fork of EasyList so when using it, you don't have to use EasyList filter and it written to work specifically in AdGuard. The second Base filter is optimized for other ad blockers (with incompatible strings removed) and is meant to be used along EasyList filter.
