I grew up listening to metallica and pantera, and still can not bring myself to like this. I can not stand the whole, scream like your in agony and call it singing thing ;) :D

Maybe im just getting old.. :)
Same here I loved this music as a kid growing up!!

The lead singer reminds me of my mother-in law!:p

I love the music. The musicianship in some of these Death and Black Metal bands in incredible. But then they have to sing...lol..that kills it for me.I love Metallica,Megadeth,Pantera,Rush, and even some newer bands like Bullet For My Valentine.

I can appreciate all music and the art of a true musician but the screaming vocals is hard to take

I think we are both getting old..lol.Good thing we can still be a little young at heart

in fact i came to death/black metal progressively, i was looking for more and more power in music, sth that can crush all opposition ^^

my progression: AC/DC -> Guns and roses > Metallica > Pantera > Arch Enemy > Carcass > Cradle of filth > Deicide. (among others)

I will put some other softer metal bands, they are great bands with very technical musicianship.

More you listen easier those special vocals will be assimilated ^^

Dimmu Borgir is similar as Cradle of Filth but still very soft compared to Immortal ^^
