I am a wide reader, I have lots of books ranging from non-fiction, sci-fi, techno thriller/crime/fantasy/historical fictions and other technical books.

My prized collections are Ton Clancy's and Patricia Cornwell's novels.

Currently I am reading Book 2 of Star Trek Mirror Universe Trilogy.

"Star Trek Mirror Universe..!!", you've sparked my attention!:)

Recently, I'd picked up some free paperbacks from our local coffee house's "Free books!" rack, "Ivanhoe" & "The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe". A third paperback is an old gem of a copy of Rachel Carson's "The Sea Around Us". It needed some care & just a little bit-O' Scotch tape after surviving it's tour of duty that began life @Peary Jr. High School in 1961. It won both the 1952 National Book Award for Nonfiction and a Burroughs Medal in nature writing. My reading tastes are all over the map too!:D Among my favorite ongoing series which I've been re-reading volumes at random is Jim Butcher's "The Dresden Files", the entertainingly magical action packed (& spooky) adventures of Chicago's only Wizard for hire whom can be found listed in the local yellow pages under "W"! :p;)

Found this article: Huxley or Orwell?

I was in the middle of such a debate this past week between people who proposed that we are being seduced to totalitarianism by the bread and circuses of Huxley’s “Brave New World” and those who thought it was through the pain and suppression of Orwell’s “1984”.
To quote the great 21st Century progressive philosopher, H.R. Clinton: “What difference, at this point does it make?”
My argument was exactly that as proposed by the philosopher Clinton, the common denominator of Huxley and Orwell is that both are two forks that converge on a single path – big government control.
.. ..
Brave New World and 1984 are but two different poisons that result in the same predictable end – the death of liberty and individual freedom.

- read more on the original article, please ..

I haven't finish reading both of them, but for what I have been reading, Huxley's world is more for a Democracy/Capitalist view and Orwell's world is more for a Comunist/Socialists view

OK, I shall!;) "- read more on the original article...".
Thank you for this, prorootect. I'd nearly forgotten how stimulating "1984" was for me (..was it truly so long ago?o_O) once upon an awesome time!:)
Now, thanks to this, I've a new old book whose seemingly positive title, "Brave New World" does not belie it's:eek: frightening implications. I shall enjoy hunting it down!

Lol, those 'Dang' books!;) Why can't they help speed us along:rolleyes: so we can get on to the next one quicker!:p *I am kidding.:D

It is about 700 pages. The longest Tom Clancy novel (Executive Orders) I've read (twice) has more than a thousand pages

I'll look forward to reading book one then!:D
Endings can sometimes leave us ..bereft!
I felt this way with J.R.R. Tolkien's "Return Of The King" and particularly with the last "Harry Potter" installment, "..And The Deathly Hallows". Reading it again helped ...somewhat.

My last completed book was earlier this week, "A Game Of Thrones" which was excellent!:D
Happily there are a total of five with four more to look forward to!:):)
