Right now the only viable option that i found was through DNS web filtering.

I am currently using Norton ConnectSafe. I have also tried cleanbrowsing.org but the problem with using that is it also forces safe mode on YouTube and I cant see the comments section, which is annoying.

I need a reliable way to filter them for all my devices. I also need blacklisting feature, so I can block some mixed sites like 4chan.org and reddit.com.

Looks like K9 was bought by Symantec and their last update was on 2013. I am not sure whether it is updated.
I have not seen a webpage, which would not be blocked by K9, it has a great filter, sometimes too good, so some exceptions are needed.

Adguard Desktop and has a child filter. You just select the age range
Adguard has the weakest family protection and no reporting. I reported a webpage a year ago, twice, nothing, OpenDNS blocked it within hours.

ESET Internet Security has Parental Control it gives you the option to choose from predefined categories according to the age of your kids. Let’s you set a password to protect settings against modification as well as prevent unauthorized product uninstallation. Let’s you add websites to exception to be blocked or allowed.

There is no way to block porn apart from limiting 'net access via a whitelist. Even then Google/Bing/Yandex/etc will fail you or your users will discover Ultrasurf, etc.

OpenDNS can be helpful, but there are more porn sites created daily than OpenDNS can ever hope to stay ahead of... and their site review process for free users is absymal.

I would give Kaspersky Safe Kids (free) a shot. Maybe that will work for you.

I already mentioned with adguard de3kktop you can set the user level. Just for kicks I set it for my and set it for age 3 and it blocked playing videos on pornhub. I don't use adguard any longer.

That's just it- the spawning of internet porn sites today is nearly incomprehensible.

Gryphon Secure Router has the best parental controls I have ever seen. Bar none. It's literally years ahead of anything else.

It even has a slider for 'homework only' hours for kids. Where only educational/school websites are accessible.. It's brilliant.

I suggest you to try enabling Safesearch on your browser. Just open Google in a browser and go to the Google preferences screen. By activating SafeSearch, you can filter explicit search results in Google Chrome and other browsers. Also, try using FamilyShield for blocking porn and related adult content. Hope it will help you.
