We have seen a lot of bandwidth monitor software Cucusoft Netguard, Networx , Netspeed Monitor etc..

I had noticed that Cucusoft netguard and Networx are slight heavy during system startup and very slow over fetching the bandwidth.

The other one i came across is Netspeed Monitor which is a handy tool.

But it doesnt seem like they havent updated the software since long time.

The issue with this program is, its not compatible with Windows 8/8.1 , its natively supports up to Windows 7.

We can run this in an compatibility mode in no doubt. But once installed its tough to get rid off.

I have installed this program and i want to uninstall this, when i try to uninstall i get an error the uninstall directory file is missing.

I ran this uninstaller under Iobit Uninstaller i got the error , then the powerful scan was done, some entries were deleted and the program was disappeared for Control panel.

But i can still find this program can run in my system as usual without any installation file!

So i have two Questions,
What is a good alternative of this Software ?
How to remove this program completely ?

Will be waiting for awesome replies. Thanks !

networkx

During install Windows 7/8/9 users should select "WFP Implementation"

It is better that you select the network adapter used for internet connection in "Monitored interfaces"

Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) is a set of API and system services that provide a platform for creating network filtering applications. The WFP API allows developers to write code that interacts with the packet processing that takes place at several layers in the networking stack of the operating system. Network data can be filtered and also modified before it reaches its destination.

By providing a simpler development platform, WFP is designed to replace previous packet filtering technologies such as Transport Driver Interface (TDI) filters, Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) filters, and Winsock Layered Service Providers (LSP). Starting in Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista, the firewall hook and the filter hook drivers are not available; applications that were using these drivers should use WFP instead.

With the WFP API, developers can implement firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus programs, network monitoring tools, and parental controls. WFP integrates with and provides support for firewall features such as authenticated communication and dynamic firewall configuration based on applications' use of sockets API (application-based policy). WFP also provides infrastructure for IPsec policy management, change notifications, network diagnostics, and stateful filtering.

Windows Filtering Platform is a development platform and not a firewall itself. The firewall application that is built into Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, and later operating systems – Windows Firewall with Advanced Security (WFAS) – is implemented using WFP. Therefore, applications developed with the WFP API or the WFAS API use the common filtering arbitration logic that is built into WFP.

The WFP API consists of a user-mode API and a kernel-mode API. This section provides an overview of the entire WFP and describes in detail only the user-mode portion of the WFP API. For a detailed description of the kernel-mode WFP API, see the Windows Driver Kit online help.

I suggest you read about it.

Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) provides developers with a unified programming model for building rich Windows smart client user experiences that incorporate UI, media, and documents.

I suggest you read about it.

viktik or someone else, I foolishly installed Cucusoft Netguard on my Windows 8.1 machine. It didn't detect any network activity so I uninstalled it. It was unable to remove everything and said I should remove manually. It left a service - C:\Program Files\Cucusoft\NetGuard\SysMsgProxySrvc.sys - running. If I now disable it, Firefox still has connectivity, but Thunderbird can no longer find any servers.

Does anyone pleeeease have ay suggestions on how to remove this?

I run all sorts of servers on my machine for softwware development, so clutter in the network stack really causes me problems. In fact I replaced my laptop a few weeks ago with this one due to problems with the Windows network stack on my last one. So I would be hugely grateful for any tips. I saw the Win8 network monitoring and assumed, fatefully, that apps would no longer need to install junk into the stack.

Update - I set startup to manual, stopped SysMsgProxySrvc.sys and restarted my machine and all network connections appear to be working.

I'd still be immensely grateful for any tips on how this thing ties into my networking stack, I'm desperate to get rid of it but nervous of leaving a gap somewhere. (This happened previously with a similar piece of software - installed filters on every network connection, which then when I uninstalled the software killed every network connection. But at least with this one I could open the TCP4 properties and untick the filter. Although networking was always unreliable from then on.)

Download the application from the manufacturer website and reinstall the software. Later Exit the program properly and then use a third party uninstaller like iobit uninstaller to uninstall the software completely. Later use CCleaner to scan again for leftover items and then restart ur PC. Then u are all done.
Thanks.

Thanks purshupro. Do you know if iobit does anything other than scan the usual locations (program files, registry, etc)? These utilities are unlikely to cleanly extricate a service from a network stack hook, or am I mistaken?

Yes apart from cleaning the leftover stuffs from your pc it does injects a service to ur PC which said to maintain its application database like the software updates. You can disable this.

I don't mind the iobit service. It is the Cucusoft service SysMsgProxySrvc.sys that I need to get out of my machine, and I don't think iobit, CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller, etc, will do that. Therefore when it removes the service startup it could permanently disable my network connection. (I'm currently nervously testing with the service disabled.)

i just use the built-in one in rainmeter, good enough for me; i dont need to know my bandwith to the exact kb
