Hey,guys!

I'm looking for the the best and trustworthy software for data recovery. I'm willing to shell out good money for it($200-300 for starters).
I've seen brands like EaseUs and Ontrack for example but I trust users like myself more than review sites.

Thank you for comments and suggestions.

@StriderHunterX What have you used before and what did/didn't you like about them?

Are you looking for general data recovery software, or software that specialises in say media file recovery?

I've got an older version of O&O Media Recover - v12, updated one is v14 I believe, its proved to be better at media file recovery from failing HDDs and Flash drives than other general recovery software I have.

I second the suggestion for Recuva, another free software is Restoration, it hasn't been updated for a long time but does not need installing, just run the .exe.

You mention EaseUs, their Data recovery Wizard performs well. MiniTool Power Data Recovery has worked well for me as well.

@Stopspying Recuva has worked fine in the past! But like you said,it hasn’t been updated in a while and I wanted a really strong tool to add to my repertoire.

I’ve thinking about it for a while and a situation at work reignited my search for it.To cut to the chase and make the long story short,I’m dealing with a disgruntled employee situation.

And while his boss doesn’t seem so focused on the data,I wanted to try my hand with the best software available and document my results.

OnTrack Easy Recovery is the fastest paid recovery software that I've used (2-3 yrs back). It's also great in recovering all types of files, even on formatted disks and corrupted HDD. There are 6 flavors for the same (Free, Home, Professional, Premium, Technician, Toolkit). I think I used the Professional and Technician versions.
