First open cmd.exe with administrative privileges. Then type in sfc/scannow. Let it run. When finished it will fix the errors or not.

Windows 8 and above have a new tool called DISM. You can use that to try and fix your Windows errors.

Open cmd.exe with administrative privileges and type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.

Let it run and complete. You might have to use a Windows 8 ISO image to repair your OS.

tho process is similar to W8.1, its slightly different.
