Poll aimed for Windows RT/8/Pro users.

Out of interest, how do you log in to your user account?
  1. User Password
  2. PIN code
  3. Picture Password
  4. No Password

If you use Windows 7, Vista or XP, choose "I use another OS".

I've recently decided to change to a PIN code password.

Benefits over User Password:
- Never need to enter Real password for Microsoft Account.
- Easy to remember, 4-digits only.
- Instant Logs-in after correct code, no need to hit Enter.

PS: If you switch you can still log in using the other options, if set.

I sign in with my user password. Although the PIN password seems interesting to use, I may try it out.

In my personal experience, the standard way to enter password is really better and as long you type fast no one could see the hint button.

For picture password may contain a bit disadvantage for none touch screen users as varies from the pattern made using a mouse.

Using a PIN for several months, but forgot my user password when I had to boot in to Safe Mode. Reverted back to User Password as primary login.

User password but I use fingerprint scanner to log in on my netbook (serves as wife's desktop). Though I reckon that all these methods, as Earth discovered, are a bit tricky since you can easily forget your true password when you need it. So from time to time (especially when no one is watching) I use password to sign in.

No password. I have my Laptop locked in my room. haha

If you use a Local Account with Windows 8, I assume it does not require the use of a Password, although it's recommended to deter unwanted use from other or unknown people.

If you use a MS account with Windows 8, I don't think you can disable the password settings. As the User Password would be identical to your login password for the set MSN/Hotmail/Outlook email account.

You can use a PIN or Picture Password if you find it easier.

A Password can prevent unwanted or unauthorised use, it's like a Padlock on a door, you need the correct Key to enter. Don't use a weak password, as they can guessable or broken easily.
