Microsoft has been plotting a Web-based version of Xbox Music for a long time, and as expected, the company has finally delivered with a service that allows subscribers to dive straight in. It was set to be unveiled this week, but the site already appears good to go, and Xbox Music Pass subscribers can begin using it by heading over to music.xbox.com.

The interface is nicely in line with the Windows 8.1 Xbox Music app, and adjusts nicely depending on the browser you happen to be using. For a first effort, it’s pretty sound, and although the advanced ‘now playing’ functionality doesn’t make this initial version, it’s certainly more than passable enough for users to begin sinking their teeth into.

Paid-for music streaming services are over-rated.

Good on the spot, but long-term it empties your wallet AND you don't own the music locally for later use.

I will have to agree, you can find just about any type of music on Youtube and other online video sites. Then you can legally download the videos with a Youtube downloader (tons are available for free) and then you can convert the video into which ever format you want, they are plenty of Youtube to MP3 free converters (some even convert into high quality).

Some will even download and convert into high quality in just one click.

Just give Freemake Video Converter, DVDVideoSoft Free Studio or aTube Catcher a try. There are Firefox extensions that will do the same.

I don't see the point in paying pay online music services.
If you just want to listen to music then Freemake Music Box or Spotify can play just about any album even new releases.

Enjoy!!:D
