Hi folks,

Q1: Can you tell me from these 3 Free Antiviruses which one would be BEST (most protection) to use on a Vista x64 laptop?

- ZoneAlarm (which also has it's own Firewall)
- Avast
- Avira

Q2: For Avast and Avira what Firewall would you recommend? Instead of Windows Firewall?

Thanks,

G! :)

There is no proof that any one product can offer better protection than others to apply to all users.

Your actions will determine how well your system will be protected.
Never download files from unknown or suspicious sources, utilize UAC prompts (never approve anything unless you know for sure it is safe), use a secure browser with security add-ons, keep your software and Windows updated and use an AV of your choice. Windows Firewall is good enough, no need for another third-party firewall. No AV will offer you protection if you don't control your own actions.

Recommend AV's include Avast Free, Avira Free, Microsoft Security Essentials, Panda Cloud or Eset (paid) because most users have less issues with them.

Enjoy!! :D

Totally right 100% true well said.

besides that most routers have a better hardware firewall then all the software firewalls combined.
