The GorillaPrice adware infection is designed specifically to make money. It generates web traffic, collects sales leads for other dubious sites, and will display advertisements and sponsored links within your web browser.
GorillaPrice it’s technically not a virus, but it does exhibit plenty of malicious traits, such as rootkit capabilities to hook deep into the operating system, browser hijacking, and in general just interfering with the user experience. The industry generally refers to it as a “PUP,” or potentially unwanted program.

GorillaPrice is an extension for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome that is typically added when you install another free software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this adware program. When you install these free programs, they will also install GorillaPrice as well. Some of the programs that are known to bundle GorillaPrice include 1ClickDownload, Superfish, Yontoo and FBPhotoZoom.

Once installed, whenever you will visit Expedia, Best Buy, Facebook or any other similar websites, GorillaPrice will display on product images a See Similar button, which when clicked will show you ads by GorillaPrice.
GorillaPrice may also display advertising banners on the webpages that you are visiting, and as you browse Internet, it will show coupons and other deals available on different websites.

You should always pay attention when installing software because often, a software installer includes optional installs, such as this GorillaPrice adware. Be very careful what you agree to install.
Always opt for the custom installation and deselect anything that is not familiar, especially optional software that you never wanted to download and install in the first place. It goes without saying that you should not install software that you don’t trust.

Thanks for the instructions. My wife greeted me this morning with “you have to remove this gorillapricelist thingie that keeps coming up on Zone Alarm”

Followed your steps and an hour later we are fine. Revo Uninstaller’s a wonderful software.

  • Carly

Thank you for this. This is amazing. I had this program, if you can call it that, on this computer for just about a week. I was starting to worry because it’s not my computer (it’s my husband’s) and he would throw a fit if he found out that I had downloaded malware onto his precious computer. Thank you so much!

  • Peter

Great site, I been having these annoying popups for about 2 months now and my Norton was not able to detect anything. Did some research last night and was able to find that I did have the gorillaprice program installed. I’m on step four now, and hoping to restore my computer back to pre-gorillaprice stage. Thanks Stelian

  • Connor Cleveland

Wow holy crap Revo is Amazing all that add bull shit is gone now!

  • Katie

Just wanted to say thank you very much. I went through a bunch of other tutorials and this one finally removed the virus. Thank you.

  • William

Also, I cant re-iterate enough what you’ve said on the past, about people brazenly installing software without checking out what they’re installing. With some programs for instance, you go through several steps before you actually get to install the program you want, and all of these prior steps basically install crap. I fix machines for people and most of the time the only thing that’s compromised their machine is the owner’s willingness to install anything, not some random threat from clicking on a rogue site. The tools you recommend are pretty robust, too, even the free versions. Malwarebytes in particular seems to catch an awful lot compared to other programs.

  • siems

You Guys are the best! Thank you so much. All my friends will know about this site.

  • Angeline Plesek

Thanks so much for the step by step instructions. What a great service.

  • liz27

Thanks so much! I was starting to lose hope on ever getting rid of this virus, but I finally did! Gorilla Price was slowing down my computer, and my anti-virus protection (Mcafee), could not detect anything. These steps got rid of a lot of things that I had no idea could be harmful, including gorilla price. Thanks again!

  • DieselOx

Thank you from the USA! Avast! let Gorilla Price through, Microsoft couldn’t detect anything wrong. After cleaning with all this, I’ll go get Kaspersky, it found stuff on my other computer no others did.

  • NotATechPerson

Thank you, thank you. My computer had this Malware program, and I followed all your instructions and successfuly got rid of it. My Norton and my Microsoft Securities Essentials were not help. But you helped me. I really appreciate it.

  • technoob

i’ve been using Malwarebytes for awhile, but i was unsure of the rest of these programs…one of them was even deleted as unsafe by my Norton 360! However, i downloaded and ran all three programs after a bit of research, and they all run safely and beautifully. Just thought readers would like to know. Thanks Stelian, i was able to get rid of Whitesmoke and Conduit in addition to Gorillaprice!
