What if you have coupon companion ads on chrome but coupon companion isn’t in your programs list? When I go to chrome extensions, all the plugins have the option of “delete” except coupon companion.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this…the adware was driving me bonkers!
Great article man. Very informative!
I also got this junk from downloading a free point of sale software system off of CNET. >:(
What makes me most angry is Avast didn’t complain about it.
Thank you for a thorough explanation on how to get this horribly offensive adware off my computer and out of my browsers. A really excellent step by step instructional guide.
Thanks !!! Very helpful !!!
Thank you for writing this!
I don’t download free/trial software as a rule but got this malware after I downloaded an application from CNET! Foolish me thinking CNET was a trustworthy source …
Well anyway, if not for your help would be going mad from this sneaky plugin! What a bugger to get rid of!
Thank you!
Much appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks for the info, Stelian. I thought these things were part of websites until I started seeing them today on MY website while on my work PC.
Do I have to follow all these steps, cause it seems Step 1 got rid of it, and I can’t find the extension on my browsers (Step 2)? Also, will Spybot work?
Hello Brian,
If your problem was solved, you can stop. However running a Malwarebytes and Adwcleaner scan, will not cause any problems and might find additional files.
Your choice here! Stay safe!
Thank you!Step 3 did most of the job!
