It claims files were taken from servers and will be published in 72 hours if nobody writes. It prints a long hex string as “contact information.” It points mail at nhuvgh@outlook.com. Your ID is left as a dash. There is no printed $ figure. There is no wallet. There is no onion. This page will not invent a Session handle, a Bitcoin address, or a victim dollar amount to finish those blanks.

If you are staring at a pile of .eimmigration files and that text note, you are in a ransom incident, not a broken disk and not a Windows pop-up. You are also not looking at an immigration agency. The folder is the evidence. The note is a checkout. Stay with the folder, not with the script.

The first tell is the rename. In both cases, you will simply pay more. That is the whole costume. There is no printed price. There is no test decrypt. There is no second inbox. There is no filled unique ID. A locked folder plus a leak clock plus one Outlook address is already a shop.

Public detections for this locker map to the MedusaLocker family, including names such as Win64/Filecoder.MedusaLocker and Ransom:Win64/MedusaLocker. The mechanism is still a crypto locker: encrypt the content, keep the old filename, append a brand, drop a note, wait for mail. The inbox is not the Bear, Betelgeuse, or Dominus mail. If a later helper recites salamati.vip, amniyat.xyz, owndecrypt, stevensfalls, or richardfeuell, they are quoting a different brand. Reciting a different crew’s address does not decrypt 1.jpg.eimmigration. This brand’s printed mail is nhuvgh@outlook.com.

That is the whole pitch. A locked folder of .eimmigration names. A WHATS_HAPPEND.txt file that talks like a recovery brief and misspells happened. A “perfect and safe” shout. A network-access claim. A 72-hour leak clock. One Outlook inbox. A hex string printed as contact information. A blank ID. A warning not to use recovery shops. There is no public free decryptor known for this strain. There is no reason to mail that inbox today because a text file told you to. There is no reason to treat the word Immigration as a government stamp.

The .eimmigration name is the first warning

Most lockers pick an extension so you notice the change in seconds. This one uses .eimmigration. The extra cruelty is how readable the listing stays. You do not have to decode anything. Safe is a soothing word. Perfect is a smaller word than locked. Together they try to keep you calm enough to follow the next line. You are supposed to stop thinking and start obeying. Capital letters and three exclamation marks do that work.

The shout is also a brand. Later search ads will quote DON’T PANIC. Later “helpers” will paste “YOUR FILES ARE PERFECT AND SAFE” so they sound close to your Documents folder. Anyone can copy a headline. Copying that line does not mean they can reverse .eimmigration. It means they read the same note you did, or they read a screenshot of it.

What the note is actually selling is helplessness dressed as comfort. If the files are “perfect,” then paying feels like a small correction instead of a crime. If they are “safe,” then the leak clock feels like the only remaining risk. Naming safety does not put a key on your desk. It does not prove they still have a key. It does not prove they will send one if you write nhuvgh@outlook.com. Leave the locked files alone. The note says files were retrieved from servers and will be published in 72 hours if you do not contact them. That number is a fuse, not a court date. nhuvgh@outlook.com is checkout, not support

The printed mail is nhuvgh@outlook.com. Copy that string exactly. Do not tidy the spelling. Do not invent a second address because other MedusaLocker brands used different inboxes. This flyer named one. Outlook is a real mail provider. The people who locked 2.png.eimmigration are not Outlook support. They are not a Microsoft recovery team. They are not an immigration help desk assigned to your case. They want a thread they can control, abandon, and screenshot.

Do not write that inbox. Do not create a throwaway account “just to see.” Do not send a screenshot of Explorer to prove the lock. They already chose the extension. They already chose the note name. A photo of WHATS_HAPPEND.txt sitting next to 1.jpg.eimmigration does not make you a verified customer. It makes you a person still following the flyer. Writing the first message does not start a warranty. It starts a conversation you cannot enforce.

The shop is simple once you stop reading it as a rescue. Lock the files. Brand the names with .eimmigration. Drop a misspelled what-happened note. Shout that the files are perfect and safe. Claim network access. Offer to decrypt and “fix” flaws. Print a 72-hour leak clock. Print a hex string as contact information. Point mail at nhuvgh@outlook.com. Leave the ID blank. Skip the $ figure. Skip the wallet. Warn you away from recovery shops. Then wait for someone else to sell the missing chat, the missing price, or a fake immigration badge.

1. The lock keeps the old name so you recognize the loss

A person who believes the photos are still “perfect” is a person who will follow the next instruction instead of pulling the network cable. A person who believes the files are “safe” is a person who will treat a leak clock as the only remaining problem. The shout is there so you do not spend the first ten minutes testing whether vacation.jpg.eimmigration still opens.

Do not argue with the headline. Do not keep opening locked files to see if “perfect” was literal. Each broken open is another click in the same incident. Photograph the note from a phone if you can do it without mailing it. The wording is evidence. The misspelling is evidence. The Outlook address is evidence. Do not help anyone add coin.

8. nhuvgh@outlook.com is the door they want you to walk through

The recovery step in the sample is mail. e-mail: nhuvgh@outlook.com. That is the whole door. It looks like support because support uses email. Criminal shops use email too, because a thread is where a missing price becomes a negotiation and a locked photo becomes a sample they asked you to attach. Outlook is the costume. The local-part nhuvgh is the brand. Copy both. Do not swap in recovery1@, owndecrypt@, stevensfalls@, or richardfeuell@ from other lockers that detections also tag as MedusaLocker. Different inbox. Different flyer. Same family of detections does not make those addresses this incident.

Do not write that inbox. Do not send a test file to prove you are a real victim. Do not paste a folder listing into a new message. Do not argue about the 72-hour leak as if a discount were available. Those addresses belong to the people who locked the files. Writing them is the product. Anyone can stand up a lookalike inbox after a wave of locked folders. A mail thread makes a bad outcome easier, not harder. You cannot leave a review on a criminal Outlook account.

9. Third parties will sell an Immigration conversation

After a ransomware incident, search results fill up with companies that say they can decrypt Immigration or “all .eimmigration files.” Some of those shops are ordinary overpriced consultants. Plenty are a second scam. They will quote WHATS_HAPPEND.txt so they sound close to the case. They will mention the 72-hour clock. When RKill runs it will kill malware processes and then removes incorrect executable associations and fixes policies that stop us from using certain tools.

This ransomware will attempt to delete all shadow copies when you first start any executable on your computer after becoming infected. Thankfully, the infection is not always able to remove the shadow copies, so you should continue to try restoring your files using this method.

  2. Install ShadowExplorer.

    Double-click on the ShadowExplorer-x.x-setup file to start the installation process, then follow the on-screen promts to install this program.

    Open ShadowExplorer and then from the top bar select the drive where the files that you want to save are located, then select from the snapshot available one previous to this infection.

    Once you have found a copy of the original file or folder, right-click on it and the select “Export”. A window will prompt you where you want to save the file or folder.

Keep every .eimmigration name exactly as it is. Do not bulk-rename 1.jpg.eimmigration back to 1.jpg, or 2.png.eimmigration back to 2.png, or vacation.jpg.eimmigration back to vacation.jpg, or invoice-2026.pdf.eimmigration back to a normal PDF, or taxes.xlsx.eimmigration back to a spreadsheet. Stripping the extra ending is not a repair. It can make a later trusted tool worse, not better. The original name is already sitting in front of .eimmigration. You do not need to edit it to know what you lost. Keep at least one locked sample with the note.

Keep WHATS_HAPPEND.txt with the locked files. Keep the misspelling. Do not “clean up” every copy of the note. Do not fill in a wallet, a Session ID, or a victim number so the flyer looks complete. The blank ID, the hex contact line, and the Outlook address are part of how you prove this was this strain and not a different locker that only sounds similar. Keep the contact marks as identifiers: nhuvgh@outlook.com, the 72-hour publish claim, and the DON’T PANIC shout. Those artifacts are evidence. They are not instructions you should carry out.

This is not an immigration agency. This is not a visa office. This is not a real company that handles immigration paperwork. The locker mechanism is file encryption with a branded extra ending. Do not call a government immigration desk and read them the note. Do not pay anyone who says they can “release the hold” because the files end in .eimmigration. Do not mail that inbox. Do not ask a friend to write them “just to see.” If a later message quotes WHATS_HAPPEND.txt and offers “the real wallet,” that is still the same shop. If a later message skips nhuvgh@outlook.com and asks for coin over a different address, that is still the same shop, or a copycat standing in the same doorway.

If someone claims they can already decrypt Immigration files for a fee because they can recite MedusaLocker and 72 hours, they are selling a report, not a key. If they mention nhuvgh@outlook.com as proof they “already called the crew,” they read the same note you did. If they mention salamati.vip, amniyat.xyz, owndecrypt, stevensfalls, or richardfeuell, they are quoting a different brand. Do not answer. Do not complete their checkout. Do not help them fix the flyer.

If Windows still offers to pick an app for the .eimmigration type, decline it. There is no player for that ending. Do not pay. Do not mail that inbox.

The Bottom Line

Immigration ransomware is a file locker with a readable filename, a misspelled what-happened note, and a 72-hour leak clock. It keeps the old name and appends .eimmigration. 1.jpg becomes 1.jpg.eimmigration. 2.png becomes 2.png.eimmigration. The note is WHATS_HAPPEND.txt. It shouts that the files are perfect and safe, claims network access, points you at nhuvgh@outlook.com, prints a hex contact string, leaves Your ID blank, and threatens to publish retrieved files in 72 hours if nobody writes. There is no printed $ figure. There is no wallet on the flyer. There is no public free decryptor known for this strain. Detections map it toward MedusaLocker. The inbox is still this brand’s inbox, not the Bear, Betelgeuse, or Dominus mail. The word Immigration is costume, not a government office.

Do not pay. Do not mail that inbox. Do not invent a wallet, a Session handle, or an onion. Do not rename the pile in bulk. Do not treat this as an immigration agency. If you take one sentence with you, take this. A folder of names ending in .eimmigration, plus WHATS_HAPPEND.txt with a DON’T PANIC shout, a 72-hour leak clock, and nhuvgh@outlook.com, is ransomware on the first sighting. Treat it that way before anyone offers to fill the blank ID.

10 Rules to Avoid Online Scams

Here are 10 practical safety rules to help you avoid malware, online shopping scams, crypto scams, and other online fraud. Each tip includes a quick “if you already got hit” action.

  1. Stop and verify before you click, log in, download, or pay.

    Most scams win by creating urgency. Verify using a trusted method: type the website address yourself, use the official app, or call a known number (not the one in the message).

  2. Keep your operating system, browser, and apps updated.

  3. Use layered protection: antivirus plus an ad blocker.
