Picustom.com EXPOSED – Store Scam or Legit? What We Found

By Thomas Orsolya7 min read

You’re scrolling, and suddenly Picustom.com shows up with stylish clothes, home gadgets and gifts priced at a fraction of what they normally go for.

Everything looks great in the pictures. The item in your mailbox is often something else, and getting your money back tends to be much tougher than buying.

Overview

A storefront for dropshipping, not a brand

Like thousands of similar shops, Picustom.com doesn’t make its own products. It lists items from cheap suppliers, then has them sent straight from warehouses in China.

Here’s the setup: the store prices the items, runs the ads and collects payment, but never touches the products. A supplier you’ll never hear from packs and mails them.

Advertisements

One template, one set of product photos, one return policy, many names. That’s the scam network Picustom.com belongs to, a chain of near-identical stores that keeps reopening.

The ads promise more than the product delivers

You won’t receive the product in the pictures. They’re usually borrowed from other sellers or brands, and the very low quality items that do arrive look nothing like the ads.

Returns that cost more than the item is worth

Skim the refund policy and it can sound reassuring. Read the details and the story changes:

  • The return address is overseas. In most cases, items go back to China, and the postage is at your expense.
  • Shipping eats the refund. International postage on a $25 item can be higher than the item’s own price.
  • Expect a counteroffer. Ask for a return and you’ll usually hear back with 15% to 30% to keep the item instead of your money back in full.
  • Help is slow to arrive. You’ll usually be stuck with email, and each answer can take days to come back.

Picustom.com is a high-risk store, plain and simple. Do not buy from it, since you’ll likely pay well beyond the item’s worth and can’t practically send it back.

What We Found on Picustom.com

Here’s what stands out about Picustom.com:

  • Picustom.com was registered on August 24, 2025, about a year ago.
  • The MalwareTips URL scanner gives Picustom.com a Safety Score of 38/100, rated High Risk (full report).

What Happens When You Order from Picustom.com

Before you place an order, it helps to know that most of them follow one pattern. That knowledge can save you the money and weeks of email.

Step 1: An ad with a suspiciously low price

You’ll usually find it on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, where a short video or slick photo shows the product marked way down, often under a “limited time” banner.

Advertisements

That clip is rarely unique. It often runs in ads for dozens of other stores, all buying from the same suppliers and reusing the same promo material.

Advertisements

Step 2: A small operation that passes for a big store

Star ratings, tidy categories and a friendly About Us page make Picustom.com look like a shop with history. Underneath, it’s often a template with a supplier list plugged in.

Don’t put much weight on the About Us page. Whether it describes a family business or a passionate founder, it’s usually boilerplate that appears on many unrelated stores.

Step 3: Weeks pass before your parcel turns up

The promise is 5 to 7 days. Three or four weeks can be the reality, because the parcel travels from China and tracking can freeze on one update for days.

Advertisements

Instead of one parcel, some orders arrive as several small ones, all tracked separately. When a package never turns up, proving which items are missing can be hard.

Step 4: What arrives isn’t what the pictures showed

After the wait, the package lands, and the item is a smaller, thinner or simpler version of what the ad showed, worth pocket change in other shops.

Clothing tops the complaints. The fabric feels cheap and the stitching comes loose, while the site shows one size chart and the garments follow a completely different one.

Step 5: The postage makes a return pointless

Once you ask for your money back, the store asks for photos and then tells you to return the item to China. Postage alone can eat the entire refund.

Their usual way out is a 15% to 30% refund, provided you keep the item. Fair at first glance, except most of your money went on something you didn’t want.

That’s where many buyers give up, and the policy is written precisely to get that result.

Red Flags at Picustom.com

Each of the signs below takes a minute to check, and each one shows Picustom.com isn’t the bargain it looks like. Do it before you pay.

Prices that don’t square with the item

Nobody stumbles onto a genuine bargain with a leather bag at $29 or a smartwatch at $19. Those prices pay for a much cheaper version than what’s photographed.

The “original” price with a line through it adds to the effect. It’s rarely a real price. Its purpose is to make an ordinary one look marked down.

Product shots that aren’t unique to the store

Run a reverse image search and you’ll often see the same pictures on other stores, on marketplaces or on a brand’s own website.

Advertisements

Found the photo on a brand’s site? Your product won’t come from that brand. Found it on a marketplace? The same item is often sold there for less.

Advertisements

Missing company details

If your order goes wrong, who do you chase? With stores in this network it’s hard to say, because a company name, tax number or local address rarely appears.

Help comes by email, and nothing else

There’s usually no phone number and no live chat, only an email address or a contact form. Issues that need quick help can drag on for weeks.

Every week spent waiting on an email is a week taken from your window to dispute the charge with your bank or PayPal. Watch those dates closely.

Pressure tactics: countdown clocks and low-stock badges

“Only 2 left” on every product. A timer that refreshes along with the page. Neither tells you anything true about stock; both are built to rush your decision.

Advertisements

Close the tab now and look again later. If nothing has changed and the “sale” continues, it never had a real limit.

Watch for add-ons at checkout

Before you pay, read every line of the total. Shipping protection, priority handling or a second item can already be ticked in your basket.

Don’t expect much from those add-ons: they rarely mean faster delivery or genuine cover. They do make the bill bigger, on an order that may already be worth far less.

Your card goes to a name you don’t recognize

Watch the name when checkout opens. If it switches to a different, unrelated business, stop right there, because your card details are headed to a company you don’t know.

Linked to lookalike stores in a scam network

You’ll find the same About Us story, policies and product photos on dozens of other shops. Close one, and another pops up under a fresh name selling that catalog.

How to Check an Online Store Before You Buy

A few minutes of checking can tell you whether an online shop is worth your money. Start with these questions before you pay:

  • Who is selling to you? Look for a company name, a registration or tax number and an address. A shop that names nobody is hard to hold to a promise.
  • Where do returns go? Find the return address in the refund policy. If it’s overseas or missing, assume a return will cost more than it’s worth.
  • How old is the website? Paste the address into the MalwareTips Website Scanner. It shows the domain’s age and any known warning signs in seconds.
  • Are the photos original? Run a reverse image search on a product photo. If the same picture appears on many sites, the item is a generic product.
  • What do buyers say elsewhere? Search the store on Trustpilot and in search results, not just the reviews on the shop itself.
  • Is the ad real footage? Many shop ads now use AI-generated videos and photos. If the product only ever appears in slick renders, expect something plainer.
  • Does the price make sense? Compare it with the same item on a major marketplace. A huge markdown on an unknown shop is a reason to slow down.
  • Can you reach a person? A phone number or live chat is a good sign. An email address alone means problems will take a long time to solve.

If several answers come back wrong, close the tab. There’s almost always a seller with a clearer return policy and a company you can actually look up.

For extra protection while you browse, Malwarebytes Browser Guard warns you about many known scam and phishing sites before they load.

Where to Buy Instead

If Picustom.com showed you something you really want, get it a safer way:

  • Start your search on a big marketplace. There you get real reviews, buyer protection and, often, a much lower price for the very same item.
  • Buy where returns go to a local address. Cheap postage turns a return from a nice idea into something you’ll really do.
  • Check real buyer photos. They show what turns up at the door, not what the ad promised.
  • Find out where the item ships from. The marketplace tells you the seller’s location. A nearby warehouse means it arrives sooner and you can actually send it back.
  • Pay with protection. Use a credit card or PayPal, which lets you file a dispute if you need to.

It may cost a little more, but you’ll receive what you ordered from a seller that actually honors refunds.

What to Do If You Already Ordered from Picustom.com

Ordering from a shop like this doesn’t mean the money is gone. Acting early gives you the best chance of fixing the order or getting a refund.

  1. Save everything. Keep the order confirmation, the tracking number, every email from the store and screenshots of the product page as it looked when you bought.
  2. Photograph what arrives. Take clear photos of the item, the label and the packaging, especially anything that doesn’t match the listing.
  3. Ask the store in writing. Email support, describe the problem plainly and say what you want: a full refund or a replacement. Give them a short deadline.
  4. Don’t pay for an overseas return yet. If the store asks you to ship the item to China, check with your card issuer or PayPal first.
  5. Don’t accept a token refund. Offers of 15% to 30% back to keep the item are common. If the item isn’t as described, a dispute may get you more.
  6. Open a dispute if the store stalls. Use “item not received” or “not as described” with your card issuer or PayPal, and attach your evidence.
  7. Watch the deadlines. Card disputes often allow around 120 days, and PayPal generally accepts claims within 180 days of payment. Don’t let weeks of unanswered emails use them up.
  8. Ignore “customs fee” texts. Fake delivery messages asking you to pay a fee or update your address often follow online orders. Don’t pay or click.
  9. Leave an honest review. A short review on an independent site, with photos, helps the next shopper decide.

If you paid by bank transfer, contact your bank right away and ask whether the payment can be recalled. The sooner you call, the better the odds.

If the store won’t cooperate, file a complaint at econsumer.gov, which handles cross-border shopping complaints, or at ReportFraud.ftc.gov in the US.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Picustom.com a scam?

Picustom.com is a high-risk store in a scam network. You may receive your order, but you’ll be stuck with very low-quality items because returns cost too much. Do not buy.

Where does Picustom.com ship from?

Most products travel straight from suppliers in China to your door. That long trip is why delivery can take several weeks and tracking updates often arrive slowly.

Why does the product look so different from the photos?

What you see in the ad is usually borrowed from other sellers or brands. What you receive is a cheaper version, produced to hit a low price.

Advertisements

Can I return an item to Picustom.com?

The usual answer is that you pay to ship it to China. For anything cheap, the postage alone can top the refund.

Keep the item for now and contact your card issuer or PayPal. Ask whether a “not as described” dispute would cover you instead of a return.

My order never arrived or isn’t as described. What now?

Send the store a written complaint first. A refusal or endless delay? Open a dispute with PayPal or your card issuer, including item photos and listing screenshots.

Are the reviews on Picustom.com real?

Approach them with caution. Glowing ratings are easy to add to a store’s own pages. For a truer picture, search independent sites for photos and comments from buyers.

The Bottom Line

Very low quality, nothing like the ads, and returns that rarely make sense: that’s what Picustom.com offers. It’s a high-risk store belonging to a scam network of lookalike shops.

Do not buy from Picustom.com. Found something you like there? Shop for it on a marketplace that offers buyer protection.

Ordered already? The order email, product screenshots and photos of what arrives are all worth keeping. When the store won’t fix things, open a card or PayPal dispute.
