Trylockt.com EXPOSED – Real or Fake Store? Investigation

By Thomas Orsolya7 min read

You’re scrolling, and suddenly Trylockt.com shows up with stylish clothes, home gadgets and gifts priced at a fraction of what they normally go for.

Those product photos are convincing. The items that actually arrive often aren’t, and clawing your money back can prove much harder than ordering ever was.

Overview

Not a brand, just a dropshipping store

Trylockt.com makes none of its stock. It follows the same playbook as thousands of similar shops: list items from low-cost suppliers, then ship them directly out of warehouses in China.

The store never handles the products itself. It sets prices, runs ads and takes payments, while a supplier you’ll never hear from packs and mails your order.

Advertisements

Trylockt.com belongs to a scam network, not a one-store business. The network’s near-identical shops use the same templates, product photos and return policies, then reopen with new names.

Low-quality goods that bear no resemblance to the ads

Pictures and parcels don’t match. The photos usually belong to other sellers or brands, and the item you receive is very low quality and looks nothing like the ads.

Sending it back can cost more than you paid

That refund policy can sound reassuring. Look closer, though, and the details paint a different picture:

  • The return address is overseas. In most cases, items go back to China, and the postage is at your expense.
  • The math doesn’t work. Send a $25 item abroad and the postage alone can top what the item cost.
  • Expect a counteroffer. Ask for a return and you’ll usually hear back with 15% to 30% to keep the item instead of your money back in full.
  • Don’t expect quick help. Support usually runs through email only, and a single reply can take days.

Our verdict: Trylockt.com is high risk. Do not buy from it. The item will likely be worth far less than you paid, and returning it isn’t a practical option.

What We Found on Trylockt.com

Here’s what we noticed when we looked at Trylockt.com:

  • Trylockt.com was registered on December 29, 2025, about 10 months ago.
  • The MalwareTips URL scanner gives Trylockt.com a Safety Score of 38/100, rated High Risk (full report).

What Happens When You Order from Trylockt.com

Most orders move through the same steps, one after another. Knowing them in advance can spare you the expense and weeks of email exchanges.

Step 1: The ad shows a price that seems too low

Usually you’ll spot it on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok: a polished photo or short video, the product at a deep discount, and often a “limited time” label.

Advertisements

Dozens of other shops often run the very same product video. Why? They source from identical suppliers and lift the same marketing material.

Advertisements

Step 2: A site built to pass for a big retailer

At first glance, Trylockt.com passes for an established shop: categories, star ratings, a friendly About Us page. Often, though, all that sits on a store template and a supplier list.

Many unrelated shops use the same About Us wording about a small family business or a passionate founder. That story is usually a template too.

Step 3: The shipping clock keeps running

What’s sold as 5 to 7 days can end up as three or four weeks. The package is coming from China, and its tracking can sit unchanged for days.

Advertisements

Instead of one box, some orders arrive as several small packages, each tracked on its own. Lose one, and it can be hard to show what never came.

Step 4: What’s in the package isn’t what you saw

When it finally turns up, the item falls short of the ad. It’s smaller, thinner or simpler, the kind of thing other sellers let go for pocket change.

Complaints center on clothing more than anything else. Fabric feels cheap to the touch, stitching loosens, and sizing follows a chart that ignores the website’s.

Step 5: A refund the postage eats up

Try for a refund and the first step is photos. The second is shipping the item back to China, a trip whose postage alone can wipe out what you’d recover.

Instead, the store usually suggests keeping the item for 15% to 30% back. It feels like a compromise, but you still cover most of the cost of something unwanted.

The policy isn’t written this way by chance. It counts on buyers giving up right here, and many of them do.

Red Flags at Trylockt.com

Trylockt.com looks like a bargain, but a few signs say otherwise. You can check each one in about a minute, before any money leaves your account.

A price that’s out of line with the product

A $19 smartwatch or a $29 leather bag can look like a steal. What arrives at those prices is a much cheaper version than the one you saw pictured.

The struck-through “original” price adds to the illusion. It’s rarely genuine, and its job is to dress up an ordinary price as a discount.

The same product photos show up elsewhere online

Upload a product photo to a reverse image search and the same picture often appears on other stores, marketplaces or a brand’s own site.

Advertisements

A brand’s image won’t get you that brand’s item. A marketplace image is different: the same product can often be bought there for less.

No business details to look up

You’ll rarely find a registered business name, tax number or local address on these stores. That leaves you guessing who’s responsible when an order goes sideways.

Customer service by email only

There’s usually no phone number and no live chat, only an email address or a contact form. Issues that need quick help can drag on for weeks.

While you wait for an answer, the clock on a bank or PayPal dispute keeps running. Note the deadline so it doesn’t slip past you.

Urgency built from timers and false shortages

Here’s the giveaway: refresh, and the clock resets. Browse, and every item has “only 2 left.” Real inventory doesn’t behave like that, so the pressure is all for show.

Advertisements

Close the tab for now. A truly limited offer would be gone when you return, so a “sale” that’s still running never was one.

Add-ons slipped into checkout

Pre-ticked boxes can add shipping protection, priority handling or a second item to your cart. Before paying, read every single line of the total.

Those add-ons rarely make delivery faster or offer real cover. Instead, they increase the bill for an order that may already be worth far less than its price.

Checkout hands you off to a different name

Stop if checkout sends you to a payment page under a different, unrelated name. That means your card details would go to a company you’ve never heard of.

A scam network full of lookalike shops

Dozens of shops carry word-for-word the same About Us story and policies, plus the same product photos. As soon as one closes, a new name opens with the same catalog.

How to Check an Online Store Before You Buy

A few minutes of checking can tell you whether an online shop is worth your money. Start with these questions before you pay:

  • Who is selling to you? Look for a company name, a registration or tax number and an address. A shop that names nobody is hard to hold to a promise.
  • Where do returns go? Find the return address in the refund policy. If it’s overseas or missing, assume a return will cost more than it’s worth.
  • How old is the website? Paste the address into the MalwareTips Website Scanner. It shows the domain’s age and any known warning signs in seconds.
  • Are the photos original? Run a reverse image search on a product photo. If the same picture appears on many sites, the item is a generic product.
  • What do buyers say elsewhere? Search the store on Trustpilot and in search results, not just the reviews on the shop itself.
  • Is the ad real footage? Many shop ads now use AI-generated videos and photos. If the product only ever appears in slick renders, expect something plainer.
  • Does the price make sense? Compare it with the same item on a major marketplace. A huge markdown on an unknown shop is a reason to slow down.
  • Can you reach a person? A phone number or live chat is a good sign. An email address alone means problems will take a long time to solve.

If several answers come back wrong, close the tab. There’s almost always a seller with a clearer return policy and a company you can actually look up.

For extra protection while you browse, Malwarebytes Browser Guard warns you about many known scam and phishing sites before they load.

Where to Buy Instead

Wanting a product you found on Trylockt.com is fine. Just get it somewhere safer:

  • Try a big marketplace first. Search for the same product there. It’s often far cheaper, and you get buyer protection plus reviews from real people.
  • Pick sellers with a local return address. If sending something back is cheap, you’ll actually do it.
  • Check real buyer photos. They show what turns up at the door, not what the ad promised.
  • Find out where the item ships from. The marketplace tells you the seller’s location. A nearby warehouse means it arrives sooner and you can actually send it back.
  • Pay in a way that protects you. A credit card or PayPal gives you the option to open a dispute if needed.

You might spend a little extra. That buys you the product you actually ordered and a seller that keeps its refund promises.

What to Do If You Already Ordered from Trylockt.com

Ordering from a shop like this doesn’t mean the money is gone. Acting early gives you the best chance of fixing the order or getting a refund.

  1. Save everything. Keep the order confirmation, the tracking number, every email from the store and screenshots of the product page as it looked when you bought.
  2. Photograph what arrives. Take clear photos of the item, the label and the packaging, especially anything that doesn’t match the listing.
  3. Ask the store in writing. Email support, describe the problem plainly and say what you want: a full refund or a replacement. Give them a short deadline.
  4. Don’t pay for an overseas return yet. If the store asks you to ship the item to China, check with your card issuer or PayPal first.
  5. Don’t accept a token refund. Offers of 15% to 30% back to keep the item are common. If the item isn’t as described, a dispute may get you more.
  6. Open a dispute if the store stalls. Use “item not received” or “not as described” with your card issuer or PayPal, and attach your evidence.
  7. Watch the deadlines. Card disputes often allow around 120 days, and PayPal generally accepts claims within 180 days of payment. Don’t let weeks of unanswered emails use them up.
  8. Ignore “customs fee” texts. Fake delivery messages asking you to pay a fee or update your address often follow online orders. Don’t pay or click.
  9. Leave an honest review. A short review on an independent site, with photos, helps the next shopper decide.

If you paid by bank transfer, contact your bank right away and ask whether the payment can be recalled. The sooner you call, the better the odds.

If the store won’t cooperate, file a complaint at econsumer.gov, which handles cross-border shopping complaints, or at ReportFraud.ftc.gov in the US.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Trylockt.com a scam?

Trylockt.com is part of a scam network and is a high-risk store. Orders may ship, but expect very low-quality items and returns that cost too much. Do not buy.

Where does Trylockt.com ship from?

In most cases, a supplier in China ships the item to you directly. Delivery can therefore take several weeks, and tracking updates are often slow to appear.

Why does the product look so different from the photos?

You’re usually looking at photos taken from other sellers or brands. The item you get is a cheaper version, made to land at a low price.

Advertisements

Can I return an item to Trylockt.com?

Expect to pay for shipping to China yourself, since that’s usually the only option. On low-cost items, the return postage can exceed the refund you’d receive.

Before shipping anything, start with your card issuer or PayPal. Ask them whether a “not as described” dispute would cover your purchase instead.

My order never arrived or isn’t as described. What now?

First, message the store in writing. If it says no or keeps stalling, open a PayPal or card dispute with item photos and listing screenshots.

Are the reviews on Trylockt.com real?

Treat them with a healthy dose of caution. On-site praise is easy to stack up, so turn to independent sites where buyers post their own photos and comments.

The Bottom Line

Trylockt.com is a high-risk store tied to a scam network of lookalike shops. You get very low-quality items that don’t match the ads at all, and returns rarely make sense.

Our verdict: do not buy from Trylockt.com. If an item still interests you, look it up on a marketplace that offers buyer protection.

Placed an order? Keep the order email and product screenshots, and photograph what’s in the box. If the store won’t make it right, dispute it through your card or PayPal.
