I did a scan with Security Essentials and it found one threat and stated it was rated high: Adware:win32/Adpeak So I had Essentials remove it. I then reboot the system as it requested and logged in with my same account. For a second it looks like it's going to load to the desktop, but then quickly says logging off. Should note, I can still log in with other accounts, and thus create a new account, but how is this malware intertwined with my current profile that it keeps me from logging in? Doing a search for this particular malware does not mention this type of issue with removing it. A restore will fix the issue, but as soon I remove the threat again, I am back to the same issue. I have also tried removing it with Malware Bytes, and it to upon reboot, will not let me log in with my account. Luckily a restore allows me back, but knowing that I have malware that is rated high and that my profile depends on it to work is unsettling. An EventID 1542: User Profile Service is generated every time this happens: Windows cannot load Classes registry file. DETAIL: Unspecified Error So that tells me there must be an issue with the UsrClass.dat file, so I check the Local\MS\Windows and the UsrClass.dat is there. I copy a known good version over it and reboot, but still the same issue. Any suggestions other than create a new account and lose all my settings, etc? Thank you Mike
