My problems always occur whenever I allow the computer to start windows in normal mode. When I double click on Chrome, sometimes it will open to the main Google search page. When I type in a search item and hit enter, one of two things will happen. Either the message "Not responding" appears at the top of the window, or the search page disappears and the message "Unable to access the network," (error code ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED). When I try to open Internet Explorer, either it doesn't open at all or it opens to the same error message above or "Cannot display page" appears in the window. Once this happens, the entire computer becomes unresponsive. If I try to open to Start menu to reboot, either it will open and freeze in the open state, or it won't open at all. If I try to open any desktop icons, they won't open. So then I end up doing a hard shutdown and rebooting Windows in safe mode with networking. When I'm in safe mode, I can open both Chrome and IE without difficulty and browse the web. I can access the Start menu without issues. Occasionally, when I'm in the midst of web browsing in safe mode, the browser may unexpected close on its own (but this hasn't happened in several weeks).
