It seems ok but I haven't really "checked." It seems ok based on what I've seen as I've followed your instructions. in other words, I don't see anything odd or irregular. The Firefox opening page is still there and, as far as I can tell, there's no sign of the infection.
What do you think of the anti malware programs I'm using: free Avira, free Spybot, free ADWcleaner, free JRT, and free CCcleaner? Are these sufficient? Yes, this is good combo. I would change Spybot for MalwareBytes.

McShield - to prevent infections spread by removable media.
Unchecky - to prevent from installing additional foistware, implemented in legitimate installations.
Adblock - to surf the web without annoying ads!
Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.

Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.
- Run the tool by right click on the
icon and Run as administrator option.
- Make sure that these ones are checked:
- Remove disinfection tools
- Purge system restore
- Reset system settings
- Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
- All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)

Ok great! Thank you so much for all of your help! Later today, after I get some rest, I plan to carefully read through all of your tips for hardening my security and learning how to protect myself. I also plan to download and install all six of the additional software programs that you recommended and to implement the full list of post-clean up procedures as well. I read your earlier reply in which you recommend I use MWBytes *instead* of Spybot and then I remembered that when I listed all of the free versions of the anti-malware programs I currently have on my computer I forgot to include the free version of MWBytes. What I mean to say is that I actually have both, Spybot and MWBytes, currently on my computer. Is having and running both of these programs a problem? The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix

Ok, I might as well delete Spybot if it's not doing anything that MWBytes isn't already doing. Thank you again for all your help! How long will this thread be here for me to access your suggestions?
