OK, yesterday I noticed my HD running continually and computer was very slow. Check Task Manager and noted many instances of Google Chrome running out of Local Low/Emisite folders. Neither Malwarebytes Anti-Malware nor JRT Junkware Removal Tool made any progress. Found many recent references to the Emisite/Emiwhatever virus and found my way here. I'm seeing that lots of custom assistance has been required to clean this. So I downloaded, updated, and ran Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit, and after a reboot, things seem to be running normally. There are still two folders (EmieSiteList and EmieUserList) in Users\***\AppData\Local Low\ but they no longer contain the .exe file that seemed to the issue. It seems like Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit has been update to handle this virus with no further action! If so, THANKS!!! Am I clear and can I just delete the two EmieSite folders? I ran Farbar after the Anti-Rootkit and will attach the two log files. Again, if this did really take care of this virus, many thanks and kudos to the Malwarebytes team!!
