There should not be any visible difference for Chromium-based web browsers - MDBP also uses the SmartScreen reputation. Furthermore, while finishing the download, the file is checked by Defender (BAFS). The difference could be if you would enable PUA protection or "Enhance your security on the web" in Edge.
The problem can be with Firefox. The MDBP extension and BAFS do not support Firefox.

I hoped that Windows Defender would redesign it's UI to make average noobies feel at home with Windows 11. I guess we'll have to wait till that happens.
