If your PC is left unlocked, it's not a hack. The easiest and safest method to add a Password to your User Account is via the Control Panel > Change View to "Icons" > User Accounts. For Windows 8 and newer: You can add a Password (recommended), PIN or Picture Password via the Modern UI. Biometric may be available for certain PC with special hardware. If you are using a Microsoft Account to sign in to Windows, you already have a password. You can see the current User Account's Type (Standard or Admin) and if Password-enabled or not. To further increase security and privacy, Windows users can opt to enable: - BitLocker (if available) on your Windows version. (HTG - How To Setup) - Install an Anti-Theft Security software - Some Antivirus vendors include this feature, or you can choose Prey Anti-Theft. https://preyproject.com/ (Free and Open-source, Registered account required) For Mac OS users: - FileVault is available to encrypt your drive.
